TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police is currently investigating the role of Z, a terrorist suspect arrested in Karanganyar on Thursday, June 14, 2108. Based on preliminary information, Z is said to be the donator for the Surabaya Bomb attack in May 2018.

"About the [suspicion as a donator] is the substance of the investigation, but one thing certain is that the Densus 88 must have a strong basis for taking action," said Chief of Public Relation Division of the National Police Insp. Gen Setyo Wasisto on Friday, June 15, 2018.

The arrest of Z, Setyo said, was conducted on Thursday evening, at his house in Colomandu District, Karanganyar Regency. The Police currently arrested Z and attempting to get more information on terrorist network and action targets.

Based on preliminary investigation, Z is related to five other terrorist suspects arrested in Blitar on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. The suspects arrested in Blitar are suspected to be members of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) operating in Blitar and Malang. They were suspected to have planned to attack the Talun Police Headquarter in Blitar and a bank in Blitar.

Setyo urged the public not to feel scared about the arrest of a number of terrorist suspects in light of Eid Al-Fitr. Meanwhile, Gen, Tito Karnavian said that the arrests were made to provide security for the people.
